The Green Archers are in complete control of the game, and immediately dominated the first half with 42-37.
This continued until the end of the third quarter, with the Archers ending it with a double-digit lead, 73-54.
The FEU Tamaraws, however, tried to catch the score in the fourth quarter with a couple of scoring streaks led by Ron Dennison and Wendell Comboy III.
The game ended with a 5-point lead by the De La Salle Archers, 95-90.
Aljun Melecio led the Green Archers with 29 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
The Archers opened their season with a win even without UAAP Season 79 MVP Ben Mbala, who is currently representing his home country, Cameroon, for the FIBA Afrobasket 2017.
Still without Mbala, the Archers will continue their bid to defend their title against the NU Bulldogs on September 16.
Meanwhile, the defeated Tamaraws will go against the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles on September 17.
