Unexpectedly yours, unexpectedly good
The Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla love team made their official comeback in the big screen, leaving Sharonians gasping for air.
Since their debut in 1991 with “Maging Sino Ka Man,” followed by “’Di Na Natuto (Sorry na puede ba?)” in 1993, and “Pagdating ng Panahon” in 2001, the duo truly worked their chemistry and charm to the hearts of their adoring fans.
But far from the usual norm of Filipino films and dramas, this movie of Sharon and Robin gives the Pinoy audience some hope for the Filipino film industry success in the country.
Now as a box-office hit, “Unexpectedly Yours”, starring Sharon, Robin alongside the hottest love duo of the decade, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, pleased a lot of people the story’s substance and “kilig” factor.
A movie in the genre of romantic-comedy, it deals with the story of two former high school friends Patty (Sharon Cuneta) and Cocoy (Robin Padilla) who find each other 30 years later, not only as organizers of their high school reunion, but also as neighbors. Little did they know that soon enough, they would watch their love story unfold.
The oldies also have their younger counterparts, Yanni (Julia Barretto) who is Patty’s daughter and Jason (Joshua Garcia), who is Cocoy’s nephew.
With an MTRB rating of Parental Guidance (PG), the movie caters to all ages. Indeed, Star Cinema produced yet another amazing film that carries simplicity with graceful beauty and awesomeness.
It is a heart-warming film that teaches the value of family, self, and the little things in life that matters. More than the morals taught all throughout the movie, the actors’ portrayal of the role added to the overall charm of the film.
So watch it now while it is still in theaters and prepare for a roller-coaster ride of emotions.
