Without FEU prominent spiker Bernadette Pons who is competing in the Southeast Asian Beach Volleyball Championships, the Lady Tamaraws had to dig deep on their arsenal to win the game.
LPU started strong as they took the first set over FEU.
Jerrili Malabanan opened the game with an off the block hit and finished nine points in the game.
Best Player of the Game, Toni Rose Basas, scored 21 points and 17 attacks with the aid of Jeanette ViIllareal and Ivana Agudo, who both ended up with eight points, and Heather Guino-o with seven markers.
In the latter part of the game, after the back-to-back aces of Christine Miralles, the Lady Pirates forced a 24-24 draw but Basas closed the set with a crosscourt kill.
Miralles outdone her stint with 12 markers, while Rocelyn Hongria made 11 for the Lady Pirates.
With a 4-1 win-loss record, the Lady Tamaraws joined National University Lady Bulldogs, who swept the elimination round, in the best-of-three Final Four against the top teams of Group B.
