According to Aguirre, Mark Anthony Ventura, former secretary of Aegis Juris Fraternity turned state witness, identified all the people who participated in the initiation rites of Castillo on Sept. 17.

Divina expressed that this turn-out was “an unfortunate but not entirely unexpected development.”

However, he said that he will comply with any order that the DOJ may issue and will remain confident that in time, his name will be cleared and vindicated.

“It is clear that I have no liability because I have no prior actual knowledge of the alleged hazing incident and I am not a party to any cover-up,” he also uttered.

The initial bulletin released by the DOJ on Friday, Sept. 22 only consisted of 20 names until Ventura named other alleged suspects involved in the act.

“Considering the gravity of the offense allegedly committed, there is a strong possibility that the individuals may attempt to place themselves beyond the reach of the legal processes by leaving the country,” Aguirre said.
