In a prayer service held at the Santisimo Rosario Parish, Dennis Coronacion, University of Santo Tomas (UST) Department of Political Science, recounted Atio's memories as his student on political science for four years.
Coronacion remembered him as a student who always wanted to engage in conversations with him in his office. He mentioned that Atio continued giving importance to the political science community even when he was already in the UST Faculty of Civil Law by paying visits to his office and to the community.
Coronacion expressed how he was deeply concerned upon knowing that some of those involved in the incident were his former students--some already professionals and others still in law school.
"I have known that you [the involved fratmen] were eaten up by your fraternity's wrong notion of brotherhood, as well as traditions and practices, including the hazing and initiation rites," Coronacion said.
He appealed on Friday to the Aegis Juris Fraternity to unveil truth and shed light on the case of his former student.
The mass celebrated by the university’s Rector, Rev. Dr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P. PhD. was held after the prayer service.
Thomasians gathered in front of the chapel for the candle lighting ceremony to give prayers for the soul of Atio and other departed Thomasians.
