Now that Halloween is just around the corner, various places celebrate it. Just like in Meranti Hotel located at Roces Avenue, Quezon City, they welcomed the spooky season with a party. Beautiful costumes were worn by kids. The staff of the hotel exerted as well to dress up as their favourite characters such as the Queen of Hearts of Alice in Wonderland, Cruella Deville of 101 Dalmatians, Captain America, and even Thor from The Avengers.

A face painting booth also joined the party, creating beautiful designs, lines, and colors pleasing to the eye. While being drawn in the face, and as paint touches their skin, small giggles and smiles are clearly expressed in their pretty young faces. Not only the kids took the chance of having their desired image or character flashed on their faces, but the parents as well joined the Halloween treat.

As the program went on, kids participated and watched the Magic Show and were left with bewildered faces. Goodies in a bag with halloween pretzels, mini cheese balls, Krispy Kreme original-glazed donuts and candies such as lollipops, potchi candy, fruitella, cotton candy, mentos, xo caramel candy and other sweets for the sweeties.

Before the day was placed on a lasting note, kids were given food to avoid leaving with an empty stomach, they gave the children their signature Filipino Spaghetti, ham and cheese sandwich and fruit juice.

The highlight of the night was the long awaited costume contest: a fun competition to reward the efforts of the young superheroes, princes and princesses, and other notable characters who took part in the spooky party.

Despite the other kids wearing their amazing costumes, the one that stood out the most was a kid wearing a Lego Batman costume. His whole body outfit complete with a full-face mask and lego gloves and square fit clothes sealed the deal and led him to be crowned best in costume and was awarded an overnight stay with an additional breakfast buffet for two.

Some costumes were worth of being awarded as the best costume but among all, with the Batman kid’s participative character and one-of-a-kind spirit his presence was felt among the crowd.

The bottom line of the event was to entice and entertain the hotel guests as well as the kids to make the most of their stay at Meranti. The event was a success and the kids enjoyed. Happiness and content were evident in their smiling, giddy faces. The weather was cooperative and the sun was shining as bright as their candy-filled teeth.

It was a Sunday full of surprises, laughter, and awe indeed. Trick or treat!
