4k out of 14k passed October 2017 CPA board exams
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Thursday that 4,551 out of 14,861 passed the October 2017 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Licensure Examination.
Alfonso Solomon Ramos Magno, from University of Santo Tomas (UST) batch 2017 topped the list of the successful examinees by garnering 91.33% on the exam.

The Board of Accountancy gave the licensure exam at PRC centers in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.
Top performing schools
UP Diliman ranked first in the top performing schools with a 100% passing rate having 69 passers out of 69 examinees, followed by De La Salle University-Manila for the second spot with 101 passers out of 169 examinees (92.66%).
UST ranked third in the top performing schools garnering 333 passers out of 362 examinees (91.99%), and
Ateneo de Zamboanga University secured the fourth spot with a 41 passers out of 51 examinees (80.39%).
This October 2017 CPA Licensure Examination result was higher in the last year’s result with a percentage of 90.72%.
Previous CPA licensure exam
On the previous CPA licensure exam, which was conducted on May 2017, there were 3,389 out of 9,645 (35.13%) examinees who have passed.
Both Vianca Pearl Amores and Marianato Jesus Del Rio from University of San Carlos (USC) ranked first in the exams with a rating of 92.67%.
USC earned the top spot in the top performing school's list having 66 out of 70 examinees passed the exam or 94.29%, according to the PRC site.
The online appointment schedule of issuance of professional ID and certificate of registration for the successful examinees will be from November 9-21, 2017.
