Higher passing rate for 2017 Psychometrician board
The passing rate of the Psychometrician Licensure examination is higher this year, with a rate of 56.97 percent, compared to last year’s 50.46 percent, in the recent results posted Tuesday by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Indicated in their website, PRC announced that 4,957 out of 8,701 examinees passed in this year’s board exam while only 3,690 out of 7,312 passed last 2016.
Caressa Lynn Siglos, a student from the College of St. John-Roxas in Capiz, was ranked first for the highest graded examinee this year.
The University of the Philippines-Diliman also landed first for having the highest passing rate this year with a percentage of 97.67, albeit lower than its previous rate from last year’s 98.39 percent.
Meanwhile, the University of Santo Tomas showed improvement with a percentage of 96.53 compared from 91.86 last year, along with the Ateneo De Manila University, which got a rate of 96.43—a huge leap from last year’s results of a rate below 80 percent.
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila followed, ranking fourth with a percentage of 85.52 from last year’s 81.58 percent.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Intramuros and University of San Carlos snatched the fifth and the sixth place with a rate of 85.19 percent and 81.43 percent for the latter.
The exam this year was given by the Board of Psychology, headed by the Chairman Miriam P. Cue, in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga last October 29 and 30.
The board exam is a prerequisite to all aspiring Psychometricians and Psychologists in line with the implementation of RA 10029, or the Philippine Psychology Act of 2009, that gives them license to practice their profession.
