“Wala naman tayong report na natanggap na threatening the conduct of the bar examinations. Only that we received reports that there are several fraternities, school organizations that might be involved in interfraternity violence,” said Chief Supt.

Gen. Joel Coronel.Chief Coronel also said that more than 700 policemen were deployed together with other added officials from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and also from the Manila City Hall.

Supreme Court and University of Santo Tomas (UST) personnel were also tasked to help around the security of the bar examination vicinity.

Sr. Insp. Philipp Ines said that a total amount of around 6,290 bar examinees took the exam inside the university.

With some closed roads around the campus, groups of supporters for various universities and colleges filled the streets of España as they waited for the exit of bar examinees.

“A mix of emotions na siyempre matatapos na yung hirap nila [bar examinees] and that we [will] have to wait for the final judgment of their exams.” said Richie Aquino, a supporter from the University of Perpetual Help Biñan.

By six in the afternoon, bar examinees exited the España gate of UST as the various groups cheered and applauded in celebration to mark the last day of examination.

“Yung sobrang dedication kasi ‘ung pag-aaral ng law is kailangan mo i-devote yung most of your time, kailangan dedicated [ka] na basahin at the same time intindihin [yung law],” said Maria Luisa Guzman, a bar candidate from Cagayan State University.

The results of the examination are expected to be released either on the last week of April or on the first week of May.
